Boy or a Girl

So Matt and I have put on our requirements that we would be honored to have a boy or a girl. From the very beginning most people from our agency have told us that we would probably get a boy since so many people request girls. Not sure why this is but they just do. So even though we requested either gender I have it in my mind that we will be getting a boy since that is what I have heard. When I refer to baby E I see in my mind a boy and when I look at baby stuff I gravitate more toward the boy side; I have more boy names picked out...etc. Today I decided to count on the unofficial list for our agency and see where we are in regards to waiting for a boy and for a girl. Currently we are at number 11 for a boy and...number 11 for a girl. Not what I was expecting...I thought surely we would be a lot lower on the list waiting for a girl. But there we are equal for both a boy and girl. Matt and I both still feel that it will be a boy, but maybe God has a sweet beautiful girl waiting for us. 

4 months down

 

We have reached the half way point on our waitlist (average weight time is now 8 months)!! I really feel like the past 4 months have gone by fast, so I hope the next 4 go by just as fast. I just wonder where all the referrals are at?? I can't wait to see my baby's face.

Last night PawPaw Capps went home to be with the Lord. We will miss him dearly. He was the sweetest man who loved his family so much. Please keep the Capps in your prayers.

to take a day or not...

The weather around here has been crazy. First it snowed a ton this past weekend - around 8 inches which is a lot for winston-salem, rained all day today, and now it is supposed to snow this Friday as well. The only bad thing about this is that at my job we never close and I mean never so if I feel like I can't come in to work due to the snow then I have to take a vacation day. I am trying so hard to save my time for when I am out on maternity leave which hopefully will be some time this summer!! So here is hoping the snow holds out till after 5pm on Friday.

Is anyone else excited that tonight is LOST night???

Keeping Busy...

Over the next couple of months my life will be consumed with wedding showers, weddings, and baby showers. It seems that most of my friends are going through these major life changes all around the same time :) I am glad to stay busy and to help pass the time as we wait for Baby E. So my first event happened this weekend as my dear friend Kelli had her bachelorette party in DC. I realized that I am getting old, because it was really hard to stay up till 3 in the morning hanging out. There were 16 girls total, so it was a lot of fun to catch up with some who I haven't seen in a long time. Here is the beautiful bride to be...her new last name is going to be Queen..very fitting for her. 

3 months...

Today marks 3 months on the waitlist. Currently the average wait time is 7.5 months for an infant. :)

Baby its cold inside...

Last night I started getting cold, like freezing cold...but I thought maybe it was because I had been just sitting too long on the couch looking at adoption blogs. So I turned the heat up a bit. This morning this is what I saw..

our inside temp was in the 50's ...it was soo cold.  All I wanted to do was stay in bed. Even poor Jake was shivering so I had to put his fleece coat on too.

 

SO we called our home warranty people and about 7 hours later :) they came to fix it

Apparently the previous owner left something on and the motor in our heater rusted and stopped working. . Thank goodness he was able to come out and fix it because it is snowing!!
